I feel so fortunate that I found this program for my daughters. It is a wonderful, holistic center for treatment of depression, drug abuse, and many other issues teenagers confront.
Waterford Academy was fantastic for me and my family. The staff members were first class and always professional with a genuine smile. The academy proved to be as much as, and even more, all the referrals said it would be. Thank You Waterford!
From the moment i made the first voice contact with someone at Waterford, I felt like they loved their job. Every step of the way, from phone calls, emails, counseling sessions as well as face to face interactions, that became the norm. This isn't encountered on a daily basis with all the companies we come in contact with and it was quite surprising for me to actually witness the interaction with the staff and clients. The main takeaway is that my son looked forward to his days there. It was his place and he loved the staff as well as developed a bond with his fellow class mates, all of which I could never get that sort of interaction. It changed him. For the better. Today he is a kid that sees a future and knows what to do and what not to do to make that happen. The entire staff, no matter the position is amazing, extremely professional, knowledgeable, helpful, supportive, to both the parent and client and just extraordinary in interacting with clients. It made a difference where previously that never happened. Couldn't be more thankful to Waterford Academy. Thank you.
The Waterford Academy provides great services for teens during difficult times. This is from my personal experience with my teen who attended for over a month. The faculty really care about helping teens get on their feet and get their lives straightened out while still holding them accountable for their actions. They have a great deal of resources to help, including a psychiatrist, counselors, and educators all with the idea of getting past addiction and getting a teen's life back on track. They have group sessions, therapy dogs, speakers, and go on outings. They can also help kids with high school credit who are behind or in danger of failing. It's not a vacation, however, as they have to work through problems. Sometimes kids are resistant to changing behavior (like my kid), but Waterford makes it easier to deal with life and the consequences in life if they don't change. They give the kids UAs several times a week, address failures, how they occurred, and what we can do moving forward--not just kicking them out. The kids don't always appreciate it at the time, but I can see results and don't feel like we're driving toward a cliff anymore. Of course, your teen is ultimately the one who is responsible for their behavior, but I learned how I can help facilitate that and work on my parental approach as well. Todd made working with my insurance company very painless and worked with me financially to make sure my teen received what was needed to help during a very trying time in our lives. The last thing I wanted to worry about was how I was going to afford to send my teen, who really needed help, to a place like this. I can honestly say that our experience at Waterford has improved the life of my kid as well as my own in dealing with difficult addiction and life issues. I hope that other parents who are at wit's end know that they're not alone and there are resources out there to help.
